The text on this stone is difficult to read but has been clarified by entries from a book 'Upper Donside Monumental Inscriptions pre 1855' it reads:
In Loving Memory of
JOHN MURDOCH
Died Belnaboth 11th Jan1869
Aged 62 years
CHRISTINA MCBEAN
The beloved wife of the above
Who died at Belnaboth on the 11th March 1894 aged 63 years
And of their family MARGARET
Who died in infancy March 1837
Also their son PETER MURDOCH
Beloved husband of JANE ROSS
Who died Belnaboth 20th November 1905 aged 51 yrs
And their son WILLIAM ROSS
Who died in infancy
