The text on this stone is difficult to read but has been clarified by entries from a book 'Upper Donside Monumental Inscriptions pre 1855' it reads:

In Loving Memory of

JOHN MURDOCH

Died Belnaboth 11^th Jan1869

Aged 62 years

CHRISTINA MCBEAN

The beloved wife of the above

Who died at Belnaboth on the 11^th March 1894 aged 63 years

And of their family MARGARET

Who died in infancy March 1837

Also their son PETER MURDOCH

Beloved husband of JANE ROSS

Who died Belnaboth 20^th November 1905 aged 51 yrs

And their son WILLIAM ROSS

Who died in infancy
