24 Social Calendar 1923 for Bettine.

This page is onteresting for a number of reasons

Firstly it itemises the number of social events attended by a young lady of scoiety including dances and visits abroad and to other houses.

Secondly it reocords in the third photo the illness of 'Bobs' (Bridget Roberta Forbes, pictured in the middle and who was born 10 Nov 1899) who sadly died the following year on 20 Aug 1924. The cause of death is not recorded but Tuberculosis must be a probable cause. Bettine had also had to suffered previously the death of her brother Harry who died at the age of 7.

Finally the last picture shows Lady Fobres in her last time at Newe Castle. The Castle was let out, then abandoned by he family who sold it off in 1927.
