52 Balloch SchoolThe following is a poem by A Grant about the school
THE BALLOCH SCHOOL
There's a cantie wee bit schoolie
and the Balloch is its name.
It nestles in a glouchin
on the road to Nochties glen.
Its scholars they're nae mony,
theres twal as fars i ken,
gangs toddin tae this schoolie
on the road to Nochties glen.
Their the grousies they bick birr
for the play green is their name,
a' roon this wee bit schoolie |
on the road to Nochties glen.
Now the motors they don't faulter –
their's nae sign tae lat them ken
there's a cantie wee bit schoolie
on the road to Nochties glen.
Noo the whistling trains and big tram cars
never aince did trouble them,
for a' thing is gie quiet
on the road to Nochties glen.
But night it is comes roon
and the wee things wunder hame,
tae be tint among the sheilings
on the road to Nochties glen.
Now the littlens they will grow
and some may rise to fame,
that was learned at the schoolie
on the road to Nochties glen.
