Working in India meant that G F Rose travelled a lot between the UK and India and to other countries. Some recorded journeys are:

Apr 1928 P&O Bombay to London
May 1930 P&O Bombay to Plymouth
May 1932 Brisbane to Plymouth
Jul 1932 Canadian Pacific Southampton to Quebec

On 21st Oct 1932 G F Rose and his wife Margaret Hale Hambley, whom he married on 28th Dec1912 when he was 36, embarked at Plymouth on the RMS Rangitane. The RMS Rangitane was a passenger liner owned by the New Zealand Shipping Company. She was one of three sister ships (the other sisters were Rangitata and Rangitiki) delivered to the company in 1929 for the All-Red Route between Britain and New Zealand. Rangitane was built by John Brown & Company and launched on 27 May 1929. The ship arrived in Wellington on 24th November 1932.

The Rose’s spent Christmas in New Zealand as shown by the menus on the next page. They had Christmas Dinner at the United Services Hotel in Christchurch and also dined at the White Star Hotel Queenstown. The Hotel is on Lake Watatipu near the Southern end of New Zealand.

They returned by the Royal Union Line which travelled to the USA. The Ship was the RMS Maunganui which docked in San Francisco
