Comments:
When my family moved into the old manse in 1946, my brother George and I decided to inspect the old church while the movers were busy unloading our furniture, and peaking in the door I spied a thick rope hanging from the ceiling, with a big knot at the base and decided to swing on it. Well! all of a sudden the church bell clanged loudly and it brought our neighbours, "The Hays" from Kirkton, over to investigate. I thought I was in for big trouble, but everyone took it all in stride and they welcomed us to the glen.( I was only 11 yrs old at that time!!!
