"Elspeth (sometimes referred to as Elizabeth) had intended to become a Carmelite nun but was prevented from fulfilling this ambition due to an accident which left her an invalid and confined to a wheelchair. (Family tradition rather dramatically has it that she was crushed by a cow). However, on her death, permission was given for Elspeth to be buried in the habit of the Carmelites, despite having never officially entered the order."

Jessie Carmichael,

Jessie became a teacher and married and had a family of three daughters.
Jessie Carmichael died aged 91 on the 16th March 1934 in Spinkhill, a small village in Derbyshire. She was the great grandmother of Robert Curry
