Meanings:
Umquhile: (archaic) Erstwhile, former.
Lyverentrix : presumably a lady receiving a life rent (rent for life)

The Parish of Glenbucket in the first official 1696 poll contained 14 clachans with a population of 179 consisting of 94 males and 85 females in 85 family groups. However it only lists those of taxable age, so the total population was probably between two and three times the 179 listed - over 400 souls.

LIST of POLLABLE PERSONES within the PAROCH of GLENBUCKET,
given up be John Forbes of Invernochtie and Adam Gordon of Glenbucket, Commissioners appointed for the said Paroch, and be Mr. Alexander Stefhein, Schoolmaster at the Kirk of Invernochty, Clerk and Collector appointed be them for the said Paroch.

The Valuation of that part of Glenbucket within the said paroch which belonged to the deceist umquhile Adam Gordon of Glenbucket, the valuation of which is £740 0 0

The hundereth pairt whereof is £7 8 0
