This is not aThomson family photo,no Thomsons at Easterbuchat in 1930. I think the man holding infant is William Henderson and George Duncan standing behind-any comment.?

Willie, William Henderson and George Duncan, both of Easterbuchat also appear as members of the Games Committee in 1926 (image 87). While William Henderson matches up,George dosen't seem to. Is the Committee image wrong?

I am pretty sure the Games picture in Ken's book came from my mother (the spots on the LH side are the same as the original I have. At that time mother & father were both alive so I would have thought the names accurate if Ken got them from Mum & Dad Incidentally, the date is wrong on the Games Committee photo. "Glenbuchat,July 30th 1927" is embossed on the copy I have.

Regardless of Alan Johnstons comment the point is this is not a Thomson family photo. My Thomson family came to Easterbuchat in 1943.My thoughts still remain is the photo the Henderson-Duncan family's or not?

I agree with Billy, NOT his Thomson family at Easterbuchat.
I have looked a bit closer at the Games picture and I wonder if it is not William Henderson either. The youngest man in the "Easterbuchat" photo seems to have a different shaped head and more sticking out lugs than the one identified as William Henderson in the Games photo.
The other thing possibly adding weight to the nae Henderson theory is a lack of Henderson births registered in the Glen, Strathdon or Towie between 1920 & 1930.
There were 3 likely Thomson births in the Glen for the child, William John (1927), Charles (1928) & Harry (1928), so could this be a different Thomson family but not at Easterbuchat? Unfortunately, without going to the Archives I don't know their parents.

Now I'm having doubts!
Just been looking at a picture of William Henderson as an older man on Murdoch Henderson's Family tree and there are similarities to the picture, maybe the Games on was captioned wrong.
On the other hand William Henderson's family were born between 1909 & 1914 and by the 30's he would have been over 50.

Managed to discuss the picture with my brother George (b 1935) & his wife Ella Thomson (b 1935).
They recollected a family at Easter Buchat with 3 girls, and a family Deans, but could not place those in the photo. Also "disna look like the Easter Buchat door". At one time there was a family of Thomsons at Smiddyford.
The mystery deepens!

I have been mixing up William Hendersons. The one in the Games photo is the ploughman in the 1918 Voters Roll and not the joiner who had family 1909-14 (Murdoch Henderson has confirmed). Nevertheless, there were no Henderson births registered in the Glen between 1913 & 1940. Births in Strathdon 1933;Tarland 1930 & 37; Kildrummy 1920 & 32 could be possibles.
