Glenbuchat Heritage

A copy of this photo of John Farquharson, possibly on his wedding day in May 1882, was found in an album owned by his sister Mary, who followed John to Australia with her son John Alexander Farquharson in 1889 (Mary did not marry). There are photos of Mary and John's other siblings, all of whom except Betsy (Elizabeth, who died in 1875 in Strathdon), eventually migrated to Australia (Alexander Anderson Farquharson, Robert Farquharson, Charlotte Jane Farquharson, William Farquharson (plaque in Strathdon church). Only John and William had children. John and Sarah (nee Watson) had five, William and Sarah (nee Storer) also had five. They were all born near Birregurra, where John and Sarah eventually settled in 1894 until their deaths. There are several photos in Mary's album that were taken in Scotland, including two of an older couple, possibly John's parents, Robert Farquharson and Helen Allanach. I would love to be able to identify the unknown photos and add to my collection.
