Picture 1. The track through Clashindarroch Forest, with the site of New Forest in the trees on the right of the picture.
Turning south off the track through Clachindarrioch Forest the land falls increasingly steeply down to Kirkney water. This is thickly forested and after about 100yds you come to stones indicating a previous building.
Picture 2. Stones from the outer wall of the steading.
To the right of the steading is a pit in the forest floor. This is the site of the outer shaft of a horse engine. There is a cog at the bottom which connects to a shaft which goes through the wall and connects with a pulley wheel inside the steading.
