?Glenbuchat Plane Crashes
Hello, Would anyone know of the location of the 2 planes that crashed in the Glenbuchat area in 1940. 1. On the 31st January 1940 an Airspeed Oxford on an excercise from Lossiemouth crashed, the only location I have is the Glenbuchat area. 2. On the 24th. August 1940 an Avro Anson on a training flight from Lossiemouth crashed injuring all of the 5 crew on board, the location is given as, high ground in the Bridge of Buchat area.. I would be interested to find out if anyone knows of the exact location of these 2 war time accidents. Wonderful Site
This is my first visit to your Guestbook although I frequently visit the site. My grandfather, Archibald Gauld (son of William Gauld 1858-1933, grandson of William Gauld 1807-1895) was born in Glenbucket. After discovering that brothers and a sister of both Williams emigrated to Canada, I am uncovering a wealth of information about the Gaulds in Canada and am in contact with some of their descendants here. Please fell free to contact me if you have an interest in the Gaulds and if anybody has any pictures of any of the Glenbucket Gaulds I would dearly love to have copies of them. My mum only has two pictures of her dad. Thanks.Added by Christine Gauld Chambers, Ontario Canada on 08 November 2011 - add reply
My First Visit
This is my first visit to this wonderful site and I will be back. My grandparents and their families came from the area and hopefully I will be able to add a little more information to the archive. My granny was Bella Ritchie b 1901 at Kirktown Glenbucket and she married Alex Wilson b 1897 Braeside of Clova, Auchindoir, at Linthaugh Lumsden in 1921Added by Fiona Haggart on 29 August 2011 - add reply

Keeping History Alive
What a lovely site. It has provided a great source of information about the Glen and my ancestral home at Peatfold (Dow). It has also allowed me to share some of my own pictures of the Glen with others interested in the history of the area.Added by Billy Rolls on 26 January 2011 - add reply
Fabulous site
I am thrilled to come across this site. I had traced my family roots back to the mid 1700s but I now have more information to add and I can go back even further. My sister and I visited Strathdon a couple of years ago to see if we could find anything in the kirkyard but to no avail. The link is Drumnagarrow, the Strachans, the Thoms and the William family from Towie. Well done to you and all the contributors, this is a fantastic achievement.Added by Hilary Martin on 19 December 2010 - add reply

Well Done
Delighted to come across this site. My Mitchell/Grassick ancestors come from hereabouts. I only visited once in 2003 and didn't know where to look except at Bridge of Buchat where Margaret Grassick Mitchell died at the home of her daughter Mary Ann Wilson. Couldn't see any ruins there. Good to see the photographs of Corriebreck though.Added by Tish Gibbons on 18 November 2010 - add reply
Glenbuchat is my favourite place in the world, the only place I feel totally at 'home', despite never having lived there! Wonderful pictures and amazing history behind this magical glen.

Congratulations from the Alford image Library
May I be the first to congratulate you on setting up this excellent website, perhaps the second of what may become a cluster of such websites recording the history of the local area. I hope that you may add a link to Alford Image Library (www.alfordimagelibrary.com) and of course I will be only too happy to reciprocate.Added by Jim Talbot (Editor Alford Image Library) on 22 March 2010 - add reply
